Welcome to our xxx Club Duathlon at Odd Down Bike Circuit, this training event is designed to provide both adult and junior athletes with a great opportunity to build both race speed/fitness and practice transition skills going into the season. For those racing early duathlon races this should be ideal race preparation. Taking place on the fantastic closed bike circuit at Odd Down, we have an exciting format suitable for all abilities and age groups with the opportunity for all to race twice in the afternoon.
Please arrive at the venue to register at 12:45 with suitable bike / run kit, a suitable bike and your bike helmet (no helmet no race!). At registration you will be given a number to wear and have you hand marked. Age groups will be age on the day. You should also bring suitable warm clothing to put on between your races. There is a pavilion which will be serving hot drinks and food, but please be self sufficient in terms of race drinks etc.
To maximise the training opportunity and skills practice each athlete will have the opportunity of racing twice, with rest between races whilst other age groups race. The race formats and distances are listed below. Each race will start with a run which will start and finish from transition. Athletes will then transition onto bikes T1. The bike course will run through the transition area as per ITU racing and once the lead riders reach T2 any lapped riders will finish their ride on that lap and transition into the final run (with lap penalties recorded). Normal BTF transition rules will apply.
